And into the gorge I go, to lose my mind and find my soul...

A 10km hike is no walk in the park, but try doing a 10km hike hung-over and in 30-degree heat. Now that is a challenge worth writing about.

The day before the walk I went to a music festival in St Kilda, headlined by international DJ Patrick Topping . Leaving the venue around 9:30pm, sore feet and aching legs, I randomly spotted my friend Marko, who I scheduled the Gorge hike with the next day. Saved! I stayed at his house for the night and got up early for the big day. Coffee in one hand and sunscreen in the other I was ready to go.
The hike itself was beautiful. From the small riverbanks along the creek, to the beautiful views from the top of the Gorge this place was truly spectacular. The track had a number of narrow areas where we hugged the cliff-face in order to traverse the path. One time, we made it half way across only to realise that there was another group coming from the other side. Talk about meeting someone half way. We lost an intense paper, scissors, rock which meant that we headed back to wait for them to pass. Better luck next time.
Altogether a great experience, and topped off by a $5 banh mi sandwich in Sunshine. I love a good bargain.
